Under general supervision, perform journey-level work in the design, installation, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of electrical apparatuses related to variable speed drive applications, HVAC and Industrial equipment and systems; act as lead worker to other staff in the area; and perform related work as required.



Strong understanding of electricity, electrical panels and electrical power distribution.

Knowledge of troubleshooting, repair, operation, and programming of Variable Frequency Speed Drives.

Working knowledge of proper electrical equipment installation and maintenance.

Knowledge of PPE required for electrical work, possession of current Arc Flash Certification, State ET or State Certification card.

Advanced knowledge required in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and problem-solving skills relating to HVAC and Industrial processes.

Clean driving record and valid driver’s license required.

Good communication and organization skills.



Troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical distribution systems’ including variable frequency speed drives, electric motors, low voltage DDC controls, Building Automation System interface, and clock/timer/PID/controls.

Maintain appropriate service and repair records. Research, purchase and inventory equipment parts and supplies. Respond to routine and emergency calls for repair and service. May train and direct the work of other staff in the area. Assist and serve as back-up to other employees.

Monitor work done by fellow staff and outside subcontractors for adherence to current NEC and OSHA codes, constantly insuring a safe working environment

Plan the layout and wiring of new or retrofit applications.

Estimate cost, time and materials for repairs, maintenance, or replacement of equipment.
